Getting better at it

How often to come

How many times a week should I come?

Once a week is enough to keep making progress, and it’s what most people here do. Twice a week makes the change noticeably faster. Three or more suits you if reformer is your main form of training.

Picking your rhythm

  1. Once a week

Enough to keep improving, and manageable around a full life. This is what most of our members do, and there’s nothing second-best about it.

  2. Twice a week

Where the progress goes from gradual to obvious. The second class does more than its share, because you arrive still remembering the first.

  3. Three or more

Sensible if this is your main training. Vary the class rather than repeating the same one, and leave a day between the harder sessions.

Progress here is as much about learning a pattern as building strength, and patterns are learned by repeating them often rather than occasionally and hard.

A class every week for three months will take you much further than twelve classes squeezed into a fortnight.

Matching a credit pack to your week

VEA 4 gives you four credits a month, which is the once-a-week rhythm. If you’d like more, VEA 8 and VEA 12 work out at £17 and £16 a class.

Common questions

Can I come every day?

You probably don’t need to, and rest matters. If you want to move daily, alternate a class with a walk or something gentler rather than stacking hard sessions.

Is once a week really enough?

Yes. It’s enough to keep improving, especially in the first few months.
